BURHANIDESIGN was commissioned by a real estate development company to redesign their new 2 level office space in Romeoville, Illinois. The client participated enthusiastically at every stage, from initiation to final drawings and finally, to completion of the project.
The space was approximately 6400 sq ft with a mezzanine level and a large, spectacular skylight in the center that filled the space with natural light. The client was keen to create an open layout plan to encourage a creative and collaborative workspace for employees.
We designed a indoor green Terrace on the mezzanine level, placing it under the skylight so that employees could enjoy breaks or discussions with each other in a more natural and well-lit setting. The office was designed to have large open spaces that were flexible enough for the staff and visitors to go over drawings or material selection together, or for staff to host informal discussions.
