BURHANIDESIGN was approached to develop a vacant parcel in the United Center neighbourhood by a client we owned a condo in the neighborhood and wanted to develop this vacant parcel of land since it was being misused.
We proposed a contemporary four unit building with large 3 bed, 2.5 bath units. The building was designed with a façade, for which we proposed two approaches.
The first approach uses sliding wood screens for plants to create a green wall. By moving the screens to different positions, the façade can be given a new look and even new colors to match the season.
We also suggested an open balcony design for the façade. This deep balcony would create shade and minimize the exposure to the south west. Both options were welcomed by the client. The project is currently in Design phase.
